Candyse Arivett is a student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Geoscience with a concentration in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology at Mississippi State University. With a passion for weather phenomena and its impact on communities, Candyse is an active member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Her commitment to gaining practical experience in the field led her to serve as a Weather Intern at KOTA/KEVN in Rapid City, where she hones her forecasting skills and broadcast meteorology. Additionally, Candyse contributes her insights and expertise as a freelance weather journalist for the Harold-Press in Huntington, Indiana, where she communicates weather-related news and educates the public on weather safety. She has a passion for weather related journalism. Driven by her passion for understanding and communicating about severe weather Candyse has been actively storm chasing since 2017, gaining firsthand experience and knowledge about severe weather events. In her free time she enjoys traveling across the country and photography.
