The week started with significant tornado potential as the April 14 tornado outbreak threatened to continue through the 15th. However, once the previous day’s tornadic activity wound down after midnight it never quite hit its potential again. The rest of the week was rather quiet, with a bit of a “surprise” to end.

Tornadoes were reported on four of seven days, in the following states: Minnesota, Iowa, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Arkansas. The surprise event came on Saturday the 21st as a number of funnels touched down and became weak tornadoes across parts of Minnesota and Iowa, despite temperatures in the 50s.
