May 9, 2016 tornado outbreak videos from the Plains and Midwest

By Katie Wheatley and James Hyde

Numerous tornadoes touched down across parts of the central Plains on May 9, 2016. A majority of them did so in Oklahoma. At least two people were killed in southern parts of that state, where two EF3s touched down among a number of other twisters.

Tornadoes were also sighted in Nebraska, with additional reports coming in from Iowa and Illinois. Below are tornado videos taken by chasers and onlookers. They tell the tale of one of the first larger daytime tornado events this spring.
