Tornado Chasing

Chasecation 2019 Day 1 – Spring Training

We begin our chasecation just east of Omaha, Nebraska. The air is cool and dry… not the greatest start. The next few days appear dismal in the storm chasing department.

The plan is to meander about the central/northern Plains for the next couple of days trying to catch a diamond in the rough. Northwest flow could provide us with some decent storm structure, but we do not want to stray too far from the southern half of the Plains, as a much more prolific severe weather pattern looms on the horizon.

Today through Thursday will be a sort of Spring Training session for us as we shake off the rust and get ready for the bigger weather-makers coming our way Friday through much of next week.

SPC outlooks show the makings of a prolific severe weather pattern starting on Friday.

Hopefully we get at least some minor storm action today and Wednesday… maybe Thursday if we don’t have too far of a distance to reposition for Friday.
